Testimonials

Gale Stonehouse has instructed First Aid/CPR classes for North West Regional College in various locations for the past five years. She has worked with students enrolled in Adult upgrading classes in Turtleford, Leask, Storefront, Rosthern, and programs at Little Pine, Saulteaux, Moosomin, and Beardy’s First Nations communities. She has consistently done an excellent job, and has been well received by the students. She is organized, and covers the course effectively. She uses props, PowerPoint, and demonstrations to keep interest, and gets students actively involved in the learning. Students complete the course feeling confident that they have learned valuable skills. Gale has the skill to make this training relevant and interesting to our students, making it a worthwhile part of our programs.

I have known Gale Stonehouse for 30 years as a friend and as a colleague. Gale taught CPR and First Aid for our Neilburg Ambulance Staff for several years. Our staff enjoyed her as an instructor since she was very thorough and fun also. Gale takes pride in her work and she is dedicated to do the job right. Gale shows exceptional skills as an approachable person with great communication skills. Her family is also respected farmers in the community. I have worked with Gale as an EMT and found her to be a very dedicated and compassionate person to EMS and a pleasure to work with.

It is a pleasure for me to write this letter of reference for Gale Stonehouse. I first met Gale when she was a participant in a Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training that I was co-facilitating with a colleague. Gale presented herself as someone who is passionate about helping people. She has a keen interest in the area of suicide because of the effect that suicide on her family in a very personal way. Gale then became a trainer in the ASIST workshop. I coached her on several occasions and then trained with her as a co-facilitator. She then became a ‘safeTALK’ trainer. Gale is enthusiastic about helping communities become suicide safer.
